Health Systems
A group represents a health system, management organization, or other organization coordinating member practices. Group views support oversight and shared workflows; practice views support work within an individual practice.
Your user needs group membership to enter a group context. Access to a practice is a separate membership relationship.
Group tools
- Central Inbox — review referral legs received by the management organization and distribute them to eligible member practices. It is not a combined list of every member practice’s incoming submissions.
- Aggregate Network — inspect summary cards, a member-practice diagram, and the external referral summary. The diagram shows membership, not referral edges or volume-sized nodes.
- Member Practices — review member practices and their tiers, and manage membership requests.
Group and practice access
Select a group or practice you have access to using the organization switcher. Group membership alone does not make you an administrator of each member practice. Practice settings and patient journeys have their own access checks.
The group’s membership relationship with a practice also has a tier:
- Analytical — the basic membership tier.
- Operational (PHI Access) — the tier used for operational workflows. Central Inbox distribution requires the receiving practice to have Tier 2 membership.
The practice’s Groups tab shows the relationship tier and available BAA information. Use the relevant legal and membership workflows to establish the appropriate access.
Patient information in group workflows
Do not treat the group view as an aggregate-only surface. Central Inbox includes patient names, referral reasons, and other details for referrals received by the management organization. Distribution creates a receiving leg and gives that practice access to the patient through the referral workflow.
Check the active group or practice and the access required for the action. A group role does not grant unrestricted access to every patient record or practice setting.

Central Inbox supports distribution from the management organization. Aggregate Network shows member practices and referral summaries. The Member Practices page shows memberships and their tiers.
A group role does not automatically grant access to all patient records or practice settings. Check the permissions for the work you need to do.
