Referral InboxReview a Submission

Review a Submission

Click any row in the Referral Inbox to open the submission detail page. This is where you confirm what Canairy extracted from a PDF and decide whether to create a referral.

Layout

The page has two columns:

  • Left — the original PDF, rendered inline. You can scroll, zoom, and download it.
  • Right — the extracted data as an editable form.

If you need more room, you can collapse the PDF side panel while editing.

What’s in the extracted form

  • Patient — name, date of birth, contact info, insurance
  • Referring provider — the practice or doctor that sent the referral
  • Reason — chief complaint, diagnosis codes
  • Attachments — any additional documents bundled with the referral

Each field is editable. If Canairy got something wrong — misread a date, swapped a first and last name, picked the wrong diagnosis code — correct it here before approving.

Actions

Three buttons at the bottom:

  • Edit — unlock the form to make corrections.
  • Reject — dismiss the submission. You can add an optional reason. Rejected submissions stay in the Processed tab for the record but don’t create a referral.
  • Approve and Create Referral — turn the submission into a real referral. A patient record is created (or matched to an existing one) and the referral appears in Referrals.

After approval

An approved submission becomes read-only and links to the referral it created. Clicking that link takes you to the full referral detail page.

After rejection

Rejected submissions are also read-only. You can view the reason (if you entered one) but not change the outcome. If you rejected by mistake, ask the original sender to resubmit.

Stuck submissions

If extraction is still running after ~5 minutes, you’ll see a warning. Try the Retry button. You get up to three retries. If it keeps failing, the PDF may be corrupt, password-protected, or scanned at too low a resolution — ask the sender for a cleaner copy.
